Five New Makers to Check Out in October’s Festival

Super Seconds Festival is the UK’s largest online seconds and sample sale and a great opportunity to discover your new favourite independent makers! We have 250 makers taking part in October’s festival and for nearly 60 makers, it’s their first time being involved. Check out a few of them below.

Anna Figgins

Anna makes beautiful leather goods that not only catch your eye but captivate your senses. She believes in the power of touch and understands the comfort that textures can bring. Her pieces are more than just functional items, they’re designed to bring comfort, familiarity and joy into your day. With UK sourced materials and great craftsmanship, Anna’s products are designed to last so you can use and love them for years.

Baue

With a name inspired by the bowerbird, Anna similarly gathers and carefully arranges treasured objects. She collects fabrics over time and designs collections from her eclectic mix, ensuring the amount of fabric each garment needs is worked out before cutting so she can create with very little waste. Baue’s collections of limited-edition women’s wear always starts with the fabric, which is all vintage and deadstock.

Hattie Shake

Harriet’s work is primarily centred around illustration and ceramics. Her variety of ceramic trinkets and illustrated goods are all created, designed and packed in her home studio here in the UK. With any outsourced products coming from ethical and eco-conscious UK supplies, Hattie Shake is the perfect place to pick up some fun gifts for your loved ones.

Sarah Janes Nicholls Art

Since moving to Yorkshire in 2008, Sarah has been inspired by the beauty of the Northern Countryside. The majority of her work is painted on grass or acrylic and features trees and landscapes, capturing both their detail and their atmosphere. The unique process of glass painting allows Sarah to create beautiful pieces that are perfect for your home.

Zoe Clementines

Zoe is a Wiltshire based artist with a focus on printmaking. Her goal is to shine light on how humans are intrinsically connected with nature and she does this through exploring silhouettes, botanical prints and themes of spiritual expansion. She’s passionate about being environmentally conscious throughout the whole creation process so uses eco-friendly inks, locally sourced paper and organic fibers for all her work.
