WHAT IS SUPER SECONDS
FESTIVAL JUNIORS?

Super Seconds Festival is your opportunity to join in with a big online event where up to 250 makers all sell their old stock and things that didn't go right. All of the makers involved sell stuff cheap (usually 50-75% off) and it's a big supportive community of lots of different types of makers (for example jewellery makers, pottery, painters, people making clothes, etc.).

Next May we'll be opening up a category of up to 25 makers especially for 16-21 year olds. It's cheaper to take part (only £15!) and you'll get two extra mentoring sessions from the organisers.

WHO ORGANISES IT?​
​
Super Seconds Festival Juniors is organised by Sophie from Ink & Bear (an artist from Leeds) and Abi from Abilu Creations (a jewellery maker and artist from Dorking).
 
Abi is an art and design teacher in a college and Sophie has worked in schools running workshops around careers for years.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?​

You would need to be keen on selling items you'd made yourself and it's the perfect practice for having your online own shop up and running. You can see the kind of things that have been sold on this page.

​

You need to be able to take photos of your items in March/April, add them to a shop and be able to post out your items in early to mid May 2024.

​

You'll get really good hands on, real life experience of selling and the organisers of Super Seconds Festival will be there to help you along the way.

HOW DO I APPLY?
 
It's £15 to take part and you will need to fill in this application form:

Don't worry if you don't have perfect photos or an Esty shop yet - we can help you with top tips around this!

We will let you know in mid to late Feb if you've got a spot and you'll be sent payment details across to pay £15.

If you're 16 or 17 we'll just ask you for the name of someone over the age of 18 who is happy to help you out.

WHEN IS SUPER SECONDS FESTIVAL?
 
The next Super Seconds Festival will be all online on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May.

Most of the work is done in the run up in the month before, and you'll need 1-2 weeks afterwards to send off the items that you've sold.

WHAT KIND OF THINGS CAN I SELL? 
 
You can sell samples and experiments or things that didn't quite go to plan but that you're still happy to sell at a discounted price!
 
Lots of makers sell prints, cards, jewellery, pottery, screen printed clothing, original paintings, etc. To see the kind of things people sell in the usual Super Seconds check out last October's catalogue here. 
 
Remember they are all experienced adult makers who have been doing it for years, don't worry if your photos don't look like this yet!
